"Actress Alyssa Milano has signed on as the new face of the Atkins diet and plans to use the programme to slim down after becoming a mother for the second time.
The former Charmed star welcomed daughter Elizabella a year ago and now she has teamed up with officials at the healthy eating firm to get back in shape.
Announcing the news online on Tuesday, brand representatives write, "We are thrilled to announce that Alyssa Milano has joined the Atkins family! Alyssa is on a journey to embrace a healthy lowcarb lifestyle and lose her last 10 pounds (of baby weight) with #Atkins.
"She wants to inspire and learn from our community, so join her and share your progress, tips and advice with NowWeCan! Let's welcome Alyssa and do this together!" Speaking about her new role, Milano, 42, says, "Woohoo...! Excited to be part of an inspiring community.#NowWeCan".
The actress, who is also mum to four-year-old son Milo with husband David Bugliari, joins rock matriarch Sharon Osbourne as a celebrity spokesperson for Atkins, which encourages users to adopt a low carbohydrate diet to achieve weight loss."
"American actress Alyssa Milano, who welcomed her newborn baby with husband David Bugliari in September, said that she will breast feed her little daughter Elizabella until six.
When the 41-year-old actress was asked about the criticism she faced for posting breastfeeding pictures of herself, she said that people have no problem when Miley Cyrus shows off her nipples but when she posted a breastfeeding picture, it was considered 'craziness,' News.com.au reports.
The 'Charmed' actress further said that she feels people are more comfortable when breasts are being showed off."
"It’s hard not to long for the days when Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears were music’s most adorable couple, especially when celebs post amazing #TBTs!
Alyssa Milano gifted us with one such picture a few weeks back, and when ET sat down with the actress and designer as she launched her new line of paper towels with Viva, we had to ask about her days with Brit Brit and JT. The days of bucket hats and fedoras, denim on denim … the early 2000s.
“They were super cute, super in love,” she told ET. “They just seemed like the perfect match!”
Yeah, we thought so too. But alas, amid cheating rumors, Justin and Britney went their separate ways in 2002 after about three years of dating. Alyssa says, though they seemed like the perfect pair at the time, she didn’t necessarily think they’d stay together forever – “They were 20!”
And here’s a bit of #TBT trivia for you: Alyssa dated Justin for a few months shortly after he and Britney broke up! As for people who wish Justin and Britney had stuck it out, Alyssa’s sentiment is basically … cry me a river. “Everyone needs to get over it,” she says."
"Milano reflected on her precedence and tweeted about her son’s birthday. “Four years back, Milo was born and all of the heartache & pain of my past ultimately made sense. I really like you, son. I will educate you on all that I ‘ve.”
She told her outlook changed on life.
“I ‘d state that love that you just feel is so profound it is life changing, but it’s similar to living together with your heart beyond your body as you permit yourself to love so intensely you become so very exposed, and with those susceptibility you might be able enough to research who are as a person.”
Milano said, as a mom, she was not comfortable with a few aspects of the MTV VMAs, which aired on Sunday.
“As a mother I’d so want to have award ceremony just like the VMAs to see with my children because my son, who’s 4, loves music so much, but clearly I do not feel comfortable,” she said. which I believed was amazing. So talking of fashion, that is her personal fashion.”
The performer said now her fashion is mainly focused on being cozy.
In needing wonderful things at home, and that’s why she partnered to produce a trademark layout Milano expressed her delight.
“I feel like it falls to the thing I did with the clothes line, to which there’s a marketplace I believe for needing amazing things,” she said. “And it does not matter what that thing is and if you need it to signify who you’re in your saying and your design, and paper towels, why would not anyone need something amazing on their kitchen counter? I presume it is an attractive manner to have something superb superb practical but also adds a style.”
Milano is focused on living in the present and adoring her family.
“I believe that to reside in this time where we can express ourselves and be who we’re, it is simply critical.”"
"Alyssa Milano is not about to take part in what's become known as the 'Summer of Splits.' Married to her talent agent husband David Bugliari for the last six years, the star tells ET that divorce is "not an option."
"[Marriage is] work, and there's no one I'd rather put in the work with,” she adds. "The most important thing is to laugh. If you can laugh with someone, you can get through anything.”
So far this summer, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, and many more (most recently Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger) celeb couples have gone their separate ways. For Milano, balancing her personal and professional lives is key, and that balance is why she chose to exit the ABC series Mistresses in October, when filming left Los Angeles. "It's hard enough to have a successful marriage in this industry," she says. "I'm not going to take my kids away from my husband for four months and move to Vancouver."
ET spoke to the actress and designer as she promoted her new line of paper towel designs with Viva. Milano has crafted nine designs for the brand. She says she thought Viva’s idea to beautify paper towels was “brilliant … why wouldn't we want beautiful paper towels on our kitchen counter?”
Milano also designs sports apparel for women and hosts Project Runway: All Stars, so design is definitely a passion. "The beauty of acting is it's enabled me to do all of these other things, which I also find super, super fulfilling in a different way," she says. As for whether another scripted series is in the future, the 42-year-old says the project would have to be right for her, David, and their two kids, Milo and Elizabella.
"Who knows how I'm going to feel once [my kids are] in high school, and I feel like their little beings have been molded into what they're going to be and they can look at me and say, 'We're going to be OK,'" she says. "But for right now I have this window of opportunity to not only enjoy them, but also to make sure that I’m being a good parent and be a present parent. So, I'm going to do that."
The actress also hopes for more kids. “When you have these babies, that connection is so meant to be and so profound,” she says. "You look at them and you go, 'Oh, this is why. This is why I went through everything I went through in my life.'""
