Charmed Updates: Exclusive By Fansided, Is It Charmed to blame for Sabrina going to Netflix?

Hello everybody,

Netflix picking up the two-season, 20-episode show seems a little absurd when you consider that. However, another witchy show may have something to do with it. The CW still has hopes for a Charmed reboot, even though the premise will actually have nothing to do with the original series.

"Remember when The CW announced that it was going to do a Charmed reboot last year? Fans were excited because they’ve been asking for that for years. However then it turned out it was going to be set in the 1970s and be about three witchy friends. It was nothing to do with the Halliwell sisters or even their ancestors, like Penny “Grams” Halliwell. Most loyal Charmed fans hated the idea and The CW shelved it for the time being.

Jane the Virgin showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman is still working on adapting the reboot for the network. It’s possible that this will happen in 2018, and The CW can’t possibly have two witchy freshman shows, can it? Not when you then add the Supernatural spin-off, Wayward Sisters, to the mix.

I say this partially sarcastically, since there are plenty of superhero shows on the network, so two witchy shows really shouldn’t be much of an issue. But the reality is freshman shows are risky and The CW is green lighting a lot of pilots, so space will also be an issue.

Regardless, it looks like Charmed is to blame for Sabrina going to Netflix. It could also have something to do with the production companies though. Riverdale is currently a Warner Bros. and CBS joint production. Sabrina would have to be the same if it aired on The CW.

By putting Sabrina on Netflix, Warner Bros. gets to keep full ownership (and that’s something it wants to do). Charmed, meanwhile, is owned by CBS. The CW is CBS’ baby network, so it makes sense to put the new witchy show there. Both production companies get sole ownership of their respective shows."

Charmed Updates: Exclusive WB 'Charmed' Reboot Rumors, The New Series Sure to Happen as 'Sabrina' Moves to Netflix!
Posted on 17 Dec 2017
Posted by Admin
Charmed Updates icon

Hello everybody,

With "Sabrina the Teenage Witch/Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" now happening on Netflix, rumors claim that there is no more stopping The CW from bringing back "Charmed" on TV.

"According to the rumors, The CW is bent on producing a reboot of "Charmed" as, allegedly, the reason why it passed on the "Sabrina Teenage Witch" series, which it was originally planning to produce as a pair to its "Riverdale" series was partly because of the "Charmed" reboot. After all, having two witch-centered series in the same network may be too much.

To recall, it was in September when The CW announced that it would be producing "Sabrina Teenage Witch" series. However, earlier this month, it was revealed that Netflix has picked up the series, ordering it a two-season run with a total of 20 episodes.

Reports claim that another reason why The CW favored a "Charmed" reboot over the "Sabrina Teenage Witch" series is that the latter is a property of CBS, the network's mother company. Hence, The CW can have the freehand on whatever it wants to do with the series. Whereas, if the network chose "Sabrina Teenage Witch," it would have worked in partnership with Warner Bros.

As of this writing, though, there is still no clear update on the "Charmed" reboot as the latest statement from The CW was made last August, when it revealed that the script for the project is still being developed by "Jane the Virgin" writer Jennie Snyder Urman. Unfortunately, the last official update was the same statement the network released when it announced in February that it was shelving the reboot temporarily following the backlash from the fans of the original "Charmed," which aired on CBS from 1998 to 2006.

Is the "Charmed" reboot really the culprit for the departure of another witch series from The CW? Will the series finally return in 2018? Will it involve any of the original cast members?"

New Article: Exclusive Net neutrality ruling, Mark Ruffalo, Alyssa Milano and other celebrities react

Hello everybody,

Actress and activist Alyssa Milano made good on her promise to drive people to the polls in Alabama Tuesday to cast their vote against controversial Senate candidate Roy Moore. The outspoken star, 44, posted a brief video on Twitter Tuesday showing herself in a van with several young people on their way to the polls to vote for Democratic candidate Doug Jones.

"“Let’s go,” she declares after asking the group questions about the importance of voting.

Milano, who helped launch the #MeToo hashtag and has encouraged women who have been subjected to sexual harassment and assault to speak out, has campaigned fiercely for Jones and against Moore, who has been accused of sexual misconduct with several underage girls while he was in his 30s. (He denies all charges against him.)

She declined to mention Moore by name in the short video, although one young person obliquely referenced the scandal when Milano asked about the “one thing you could say to people your age that are watching this right now that are interested in politics and are interested in what’s going on in your state, what would it be?”

One young woman replied: “It’s important for you to evaluate your candidates and choose someone who has integrity, because they are going to be representing you as a people.”

Earlier in the day, Milano also posted a photo of herself phone banking for Jones."

Charmed Updates: Exclusive Alyssa Milano Discuss on ‘Charmed,’ Brad Kern Allegations and the Path to Reform Special Via Variety!
Posted on 16 Dec 2017
Posted by Admin
Charmed Updates icon

Hello everybody,

When Variety began looking into two CBS Human Resources investigations into Brad Kern, the showrunner of “NCIS: New Orleans,” an obvious question was whether his alleged behavior was part of a pattern. Did that pattern extend back to his days as showrunner of WB’s “Charmed”?

"According to former staffers who worked for Kern there — including Krista Vernoff, who is now the showrunner of “Grey’s Anatomy” — there was allegedly troubling behavior in that workplace as well. Given that actor, producer and activist Alyssa Milano, one of the stars of “Charmed” and a producer of the show for five years, has been vocal about issues related to sexual harassment and assault, it made sense to reach out to her. (Kern has declined to comment on these allegations.)

Here’s what Milano had to say about working with Kern, the entertainment industry culture, and the reforms that could help all employees and artists feel safe, respected and protected.

We’ve learned that Kern was investigated twice by H.R. for alleged misconduct. What was your experience working with him?

First of all, I’m sick over this. Second of all, obviously this is part of the purging that needs to happen through the Me Too movement and women finding their voice and standing up and supporting each other. But having said that, we were in a situation — and maybe it was by design, I have no idea — but we never saw our writers or knew where the writer’s room was or where Brad was.

They were in a completely different building — I think it was the Spelling building, and we shot at Paramount. And it was so bad that sometimes we couldn’t even get him on the phone. Holly [Marie Combs] and I produced the last five years of the show, and when we would try to get him on the phone, we couldn’t get him. When we would get him on the phone, he wouldn’t have the script in front of him, so we just assumed he wasn’t in the office. "

Posted on 16 Dec 2017

Charmed Updates icon

Hello everybody,

I am trying to make something different in order to make up for the "Charmed Kindle Novel" page that is still under construction. So we are trying to take a new spin this time by preparing new segment every week regarding spotlight on "Charmed Books" and since these books series have been high in demand by every fans out there then it would be nice for us to open spotlight for "Charmed" books each every week as long as we can. Let's start with the online novel penned by Paul Ruditis "Let Gorgons Be Gorgons"!

"When Piper, Phoebe, and Paige undo a spell that turned a local politician to stone, they little realize the powerful magic behind the hex. As attacks on innocents mount, The Charmed Ones enlist the help of their sister, Prue, confined on the magical Nexus, only to learn that the most heinous of mythical creatures—a gorgon—is to blame.

Freed from her underground tomb, Medusa joins her sisters in a crusade to avenge womankind, turning those who cross her to stone forever. At the same time, dark magic seems to be undoing all of Phoebe’s good works, distracting her from the impending battle with the gorgons. With time running out, will the sisters be able to defeat Medusa and restore their innocents to life?

Inspired by the hit televisions series Charmed, the new novel Charmed: Let Gorgons Be Gorgons continues the story of the Halliwell witches. With only the Book of Shadows to guide them, the Halliwell sisters are the fulfillment of their ancestor Melinda Warren’s prophecy that three sisters descending from her line would become the most powerful witches of all time. The sisters use the Power of Three to protect the innocent and banish evil from the Earthly realm."

New Article: Exclusive Alyssa Milano celebrates TIME's Person of the Year in powerful Twitter thread
Posted on 16 Dec 2017

Appearances icon

Hello everybody,

On Wednesday morning, it was revealed that TIME‘s annual Person of the Year honor wasn’t awarded to just one person, but a movement: the Silence Breakers. Among those who are included in the cover story, which highlights those who have spoken out against sexual harassment and assault, are #MeToo creator Tarana Burke, Ashley Judd, Rose McGowan, Taylor Swift, Terry Crews, and Alyssa Milano.

"Back in October, Milano was sent a screenshot of the #MeToo hashtag that Burke had started over a decade ago. The actress then tweeted it out and soon, countless woman and men around the world began to bravely share their stories.

“In 2017 women stood up and said #MeToo,” Milano wrote on Twitter Wednesday morning. “We overcame our fears to #BreakTheSilence. Technology and social media connected us all. We can’t turn away from each other’s pain. We are connected to it. We are connected to each other. We are connected.”

In 2017 women stood up and said #MeToo. We overcame our fears to #BreakTheSilence. Technology and social media have connected us all. We can’t turn away from each other’s pain. We are connected to it. We are connected to each other. We are connected. THREAD. #TimePOTY

Milano then continued to educate her Twitter followers on the statistics surrounding sexual assault and harassment in America. She also included, “For every 100 rapes committed, approximately two rapists will ever serve a day in prison.”

You can read the rest of her thread below:

1 in 3 women have been sexually harassed in the workplace. And only 29% report it. 65% of women have experienced street harassment with 23% being sexually touched, 20% followed, and 9% forced to do something sexual. #BreakTheSilence"

New Article: Exclusive When Alyssa Milano’s Role In The Weinstein Scandal Is Complicated When Being Caught In The Middle!
Posted on 16 Dec 2017
Posted by Admin
Alyssa News icon

Hello everybody,

Well currently it looks like that Alyssa Milano’s position in the Weinstein scandal is complicated, to say the least. And this however indirectly dragged Alyssa right in the middle of the controversy.

"While Rose McGowan is attacking Milano — credited with bringing the #MeToo hashtag into the mainstream — for being friends with Harvey’s soon-to-be-ex, Georgina Chapman, Hollywood insiders are pointing to another uneasy connection.

Milano’s married to Dave Bugliari, a top agent at CAA, the power agency that the New York Times has described as part of Weinstein’s “complicity machine.”

In fact, the Times story — which claimed CAA agents had downplayed complaints about Weinstein — was published Dec. 5, a day before Milano appeared in Time magazine’s Person of the Year issue for her part in the movement that helped expose Weinstein.

After Milano said on “Megyn Kelly Today” that Chapman was “doing well” after the scandal and called her an “amazing woman,” McGowan tweeted to Milano: “You make me want to vomit.”

Reps didn’t get back to us."

New Article: Exclusive Is Alyssa Milano Running For U.S. Senator Or Currently Aiming For Another Political Office?
Posted on 10 Dec 2017
Posted by Admin
Alyssa News icon

Hello everybody,

Alyssa Milano might be a household name thanks to her starring roles on shows such as “Who’s the Boss?” “Melrose Place” and “Charmed;” but the actress-turned-activist is better known these days for her political prowess than for her acting abilities. Milano hasn’t kept her political views to herself in recent years, vocally championing liberal causes on social media, in interviews, and at political events around the country.

"But is Alyssa Milano running for Senator? According to a recent interview with Bustle, political office isn’t out of the question. "Yes, but not until my children are grown . . . I’d like to be a senator. I can age gracefully and still make a difference,” said Milano.

In recent weeks, Milano has been advocating for net neutrality, attacking Ajit Pai’s proposal to dismantle Obama’s internet regulations. Net neutrality isn’t the first issue that has caught Milano’s attention. She became known as a political powerhouse for championing women’s rights and the Women’s March.

Even more impressive, she was also one of the original posters of the #MeToo movement. The trending hashtag started back on October 15 when Alyssa Milano tweeted for more women to speak out about their experiences of sexual assault and harassment.

Milano is no stranger to the political process. Back in 2004, she campaigned for Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry.

"I went to every single swing state, with a bullhorn in the back of a pick-up truck,” Milano told Bustle. “People don’t understand how small politics can be. I really fell in love with the process of campaigns being run out of someone’s garage in Colorado.”

While it seems like we’ll have to wait a few years for Milano to announce her intent to run, in the meantime we know she will continue using her influence to affect political change, one tweet at a time."

New Appearance: Exclusive Alyssa Milano on daughter's future, "I really hope harassment is 'outside her reality'"
Posted on 10 Dec 2017
Posted by Admin
Appearances icon

Hello everybody,

Yes, a few words can change the world. For proof of that, look no further than actress and activist Alyssa Milano. In October, she posted a call-out, asking women to share stories of sexual harassment, and went to bed. She woke up to the an outpouring of #MeToo hashtags. She's featured in TIME's Person of the Year alongside Tarana Burke, the founder of the #MeToo movement.

" For Milano, it's all deeply personal. She's the mom of daughter Elizabella, 3, and son Milo, 6, with her husband, CAA agent Dave Bugliari.

"My hope is that my daughter sees these videos of us 15 years from now when she’s 18 and thinks, ‘They actually had to fight for this?’ I hope this is so outside the realm of reality for her that it’s hard for her to wrap her head around that this is something her mom had to fight for," she tells TODAY Parents.

But Milano is taking no chances. She's teaching her daughter about self-protection and empowerment.

"I’m very upfront with her. Her body is her body. She has privates that people cannot touch. If anyone tries to hurt her in any capacity, she has to scream and she has to tell a trusted adult. I asked her last week what she does if someone tries to hurt her: ‘I scream no and put on my cape!’ She sleeps in Batman pajamas," says Milano.

For her, as a parent, a major concern is bullying, and to that end, she strives to teach her children empathy and compassion. She surrounds herself with female friends, and is dedicated to showing her daughter that self-love begins on the inside and is a big proponent of team sports to build confidence.

"It’s great for girls to learn that their body is supposed to be strong. It’s about running fast and not being skinny but being strong. And to support other girls in the winning process," says Milano. "I love women. I have my entire life around women. They’re my support system for sure. I love dudes too. I find great comfort and solace in my girlfriends. "
