Hello everybody,

I am trying to make something different here with "Charmed Novel" since the page that I am building is still under construction. Let's continue this week with the online novel penned by Elizabeth Lenhard, "Date with Death"! Date With Death is the 14th book in the Charmed novel collection and centers around Lupercalia—the precursor to Valentine's Day.. This novel is set between Season 4 Episode 12 Lost and Bound and Season 4 Episode 13 Charmed and Dangerous as Phoebe is engaged, and Cole is still human.

"Description:

Take this soul, who seeks revenge
Bind him from his cruel intent
With this spark, consign his soul
To the haze of his own hell

As Piper and Leo contemplate parenthood, and Phoebe and Cole enjoy their engagement, Paige is feeling more of a push to find a significant other. In a moment of whimsy, she signs up for an online dating service. Needless to say, she soon finds herself flooded with eager responses. Almost every night she embarks on a new date that seems to lead nowhere -- despite the fact that Paige has a perfectly good time when she's out.

Or does she? Before long the sisters discover that Paige spends her "dates" in a catatonic trance -- she hasn't actually gone anywhere! Soon afterward her suitors are discovered to have committed evil acts. Paige is acting as a conduit for dark powers -- and soon she is projecting her energies onto her sisters. Will Piper and Phoebe be able to save her using only the Power of Two?"

New Article: Exclusive Alyssa Milano are among Hollywood activists urging Amazon to drop NRA channel!

Hello everybody,

Social-media pressure is building on Amazon (AMZN) to cut its ties to the National Rifle Association in the wake of the high school shooting last week in Parkland, Florida, that killed 17 people.

The online retailer and its CEO, Jeff Bezos, are being urged to stop allowing the streaming of NRATV on its platforms. Actress Alyssa Milano and Warren Leight, an executive producer of the TV show "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," are among those taking to Twitter, with the hashtag #StopNRAmazon trending on the platform.

"NRATV, the gun advocacy group's online video channel, distributes three dozen original series through distributors including Amazon Fire TV. The channel also has partnerships with Apple TV and Roku, according to its website.

A little-noticed but critical forum for getting out the group's pro-gun views, the channel gives another voice to hosts and guests that are supportive of President Donald Trump, going after people and entities that Mr. Trump attacks, including the FBI. NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch this week suggested that people hold protests outside FBI offices.

Hosts on the channel often speak of leftist plots to confiscate weapons and media conspiracies to trick people into supporting gun control, and are willing to use racially divisive words in attacking Democrats and others viewed as being in the enemy camp.

NRATV correspondent Chuck Holton, for instance, tweeted about the need to "get busy scrubbing Obama's mocacchino stain off of America" after Mr. Trump's 2017 inauguration."

Project Updates: Exclusive on ‘Project Runway All Stars’ recap, An Avant Garde Challenge Gave The Designers ‘A Kick in the Astro’

Hello everybody,

Two weeks after the elimination of Char Glover from “Project Runway All Stars” in the unique, cartoon-inspired challenge “Thrown for a Loop by Betty Boop,” the fashion design spin-off returned with its seventh episode of season six, “A Kick in the Astro.”

"And if the designers thought their distressed challenge and unconventional-materials challenge were tough, this time around they had to go for broke and unleash their unbridled creativity in an avant garde challenge judged by guest stars RuPaul Charles and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. So who thought outside of the box and who got, well, a swift kick in the astro? Scroll down for our complete minute-by-minute recap.

There were nine competitors left going into this week’s “Astro”-nomical event. Of those only Fabio Costa had won multiple previous challenges: he came out on top in “Perfect Pairings” (with Ken Laurence) and “Fashion’s New Superheroes.” Merline Labissiere won the very first challenge of the season but struggled in many subsequent weeks. Anthony Williams, Joshua McKinley, and Stanley Hudson also won challenges, leaving three who were still awaiting their first victory: Edmond Newton, Kimberly Goldson and Helen Castillo.

So who (if anyone) went home? Going into the episode our users thought Stanley would be in trouble despite his recent high-scoring streak; his only low score so far was in “Damsels in Distress,” where he just barely squeaked by after landing in the judges’ bottom two; Kelly Dempsey was sent home instead. Joshua was also considered to be at risk despite winning the most recent “Betty Boop” challenge. Were our users right?"

Project Updates: Exclusive 'Project Runway All Stars' Season 6, Who Will Be Going Home in Week 7 As Determined By Judges?

Hello everyone,

Last week on Project Runway All Stars, the designers had to create a special collection for Betty Boop that aims to inspire young girls in Hollywood. Joshua won the challenge while Char failed to impress the judges and was sent home. This week, it's all about the cosmos!

"Inspired by a trip at the Hudson River Museum and given a budget of $350 and two days to complete the challenge, the nine remaining designers are tasked to create avant-garde designs influenced by the cosmos. Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and model RuPaul Charles join the judging panel consisting of Alyssa Milano, Georgina Chapman and Isaac Mizrahi to determine the winning designer-- who will get Marchesa shoes for their first professional collection.

Joshua, Kimberly, Merline, Fabio, Anthony, and Stanley earn the highest and lowest scores in the runway. Fabio created a blue armor with fringes, which needed to be more polished. Anthony made a weird peplum pants which the judges seemed to love, Merline blew away the judges with her "divine" white dress while Stanley, who was inspired by the solar eclipse, created the winning black and white outfit that best embodied avant-garde fashion.

Unfortunately, Joshua's "next level gay s--" creation, not to mention his attitude on the runway, didn't impress the judges. However, it's Kimberly's confusing tree skirt that sends her into 9th place. What did you think of this week's challenge? Did the judges make the right call? Project Runway All Stars airs Thursdays at 9/8c on Lifetime."

Project Updates: Exclusive Project Runway All Stars recap, 'A Kick in the Astro' Who's Win And Who's Out!

Hello everybody,

The seventh episode of Project Runway All Stars starts off with the remaining designers arriving at the Hudson River Museum to meet with Alyssa, who greets them inside the museum’s planetarium, wearing a sparkly space-themed frock. We love a good on-the-nose fashion moment. *eye roll*

"The host delivers a few philosophical lines about fashion and outer space before revealing this week’s challenge: avant-garde designs inspired by the cosmos. Fans of the show will know what this means, but Kimberly translates the fashion jargon: “Avant-garde is basically wearable art.”

The All Star designers are excited to push their creativity to infinity and beyond for this challenge, but what they love the most is their Mood budget, $350. But there’s more — the designers have TWO whole days in the workroom to complete their designs.

“I knew you’d hear my cry, father,” says Anthony as he points his arms up toward the sky.

In order to provide the designers with some out-of-this-world inspiration, the museum holds a special presentation while they sketch. Off to Mood they go, and then the designers are ready to hit the workroom and create some intergalactic fashion.

Helen, always the nervous wreck, is hard at work on her design, which takes cue from a supernova. She really wants to win because this is her third go at this challenge. “Don’t loose your mind, Helen. Lose this contest, Helen, but don’t lose your mind,” jokes Anthony as he sips on his iced coffee and everyone laughs at his read. Anthony is a superstar and I LOVE HIM forever.

The rest of the designers seem relaxed for this challenge since by Project Runway standards, they have plenty of time to make magic happen. As everyone carries on with their work, Kimberly cries out for everyone to “have moment for our girl Char,” and Anthony replies with a witty and shady question: “Damn, did she die or get eliminated?”"

Hello everybody,

This year's group attempts the Project Runway challenge that's a fan-favorite on any iteration of the fashion-design competition series: the avant-garde look. The challenge always brings out the best (and sometimes the worst) in the designers as they try to make bold, conceptual runway looks that don't have to be wearable or functional. Judges RuPaul and Jesse Tyler Ferguson judge the looks.

Charmed Updates: Exclusive Spotlight On "Charmed" Books, With Novel Penned By Rosalind Noonan, "Whispers from the Past" Finally Added!

Hello everybody,

I am trying to make something different here with "Charmed Novel" since the page that I am building is still under construction. Let's continue this week with the online novel penned by Rosalind Noonan, "Whispers from the Past"! Whispers from the Past is the fourth book of the Charmed novels. The novel is set between "The Devil's Music" and "Awakened". It is a welcome addition to the stories in the franchise, although it has some inconsistencies with the plot which is a bit disappointing.

"Description:

A shard of mirror for a broken reflection
A pocket watch with a cracked face
A cache of herbs to burn for protection
All will send me to another time and place.

Phoebe Halliwell is having a very bad day: A demon has pulled her centuries into the past. She has no way to tell her sisters she's alive, no way to get back to her own time—and the demon is trying to kill her.

Back in the present, Prue & Piper are devastated at losing their sister. But that isn't their only problem. Something is wrong with them, too. Somehow, they're turning... evil.

But why? And how can they stop it—without the Power of Three?"

Charmed Updates: Exclusive 'Charmed' Creator Spills Best-Kept Show Secrets In a Recovered Interview With In Touch Weekly!
Posted on 18 Feb 2018

Charmed Updates icon

Hello everybody,

Thanks to Ed Gross, for sharing entertaining news from In ouch Weekly regarding the unpublished interview with "Charmed" creator. Constance M Burge. Magic is the only thing that could possibly explain how it’s been nearly 20 years since the Halliwell sisters and the Power of Three first arrived in the form of Charmed. It has been years since we heard from the "Charmed" creator!

"Created by Constance M. Burge (better known as Connie) for what was the WB, it brought together Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano as Prue, Piper and Phoebe Halliwell, three sisters who discover they are witches and of Wiccan descent. Much like Buffy Summers on Buffy the Vampire Slayer had to learn to balance high school with night demon slaying, these ladies, at the next stage of their lives, had to work out living their lives while saving the world from darker forces.

After Buffy the Vampire Slayer made its debut in 1997 and scored with critics and the audience, the WB was anxious for a companion piece. When Connie came in to pitch a different show, Suzanne Daniels, then the head of the network, told her they were looking for something having to do with the life of witches.

“I didn’t know anything about witches at the time, although I had a lot of preconceived ideas and notions,” says Connie. “So after the meeting, I did fairly significant research before I went back to the network, and then I pitched the idea of the three sisters — at the time, they were living in Boston, but it was ultimately moved to San Francisco — who had come from a long line of Wiccan women.

“The research and the show,” she continues, “opened me up to many different cultures and worlds as we searched for the various demons of the week, if you will. The different mythologies like the Indian goddess Kali, and we had an episode with the Wendigo, which is a North American sort of werewolf. There’s just so much out there that’s really pretty wild.”"

Project Updates: Exclusive ‘Project Runway All Stars’ Elimination Predictions, Stanley Hudson Will Go From High Score To The Chopping Block!
Posted on 18 Feb 2018
Posted by Admin
Projects icon

Hello everybody,

Stanley Hudson had a slow start in “Project Runway All Stars” season six, narrowly avoiding elimination in the second week of competition. But he found his groove by episode four, “Balls Out,” when he won an unconventional-materials challenge. Then he got another high score in the most recent episode, “Thrown for a Loop by Betty Boop.” Nevertheless, our users think he’s the likeliest to be eliminated in episode seven. Do you agree?

"As of this writing Hudson gets leading odds of 9/4, which translates to a 30.61% chance of elimination based on the combined predictions of “Project Runway” fans we poll every week for their picks (you can make your picks too right here before tonight’s show).

But this isn’t the first time our users thought Hudson was a goner. In fact, he was predicted to be eliminated the very week he won the “Balls Out” challenge. So now after three strong weeks in a row would the judges actually send him home just like that? Well, they haven’t been very sentimental up to this point.

They ousted Ari South in episode three the week after she got a high score from the judges, and Char Glover went home in “Betty Boop” after three straight weeks of safe scores.

But if Hudson survives again, next in line for elimination might actually be episode six’s challenge winner: the divisive Joshua McKinley. He ranks second in our predictions with 9/2 odds, or a 17.7% chance of being sent home. He hasn’t gotten a single low score from the judges yet, but there’s a first time for everything."

New Article: What Donald Trump’s Infrastructure Plan Means for My Family—And for Yours!
Posted on 17 Feb 2018
Posted by Admin
Gallery Updates icon

Hello everybody,

Alyssa Milano: Every day, I question whether I’m doing enough to protect and raise my children with strength and good values. I work really hard at parenthood, and I try to be the best mother I can possibly be. It is frustrating that so much of their futures depend on our environment, our government, and the standards we’re implementing today.

This week, Donald Trump released his so-called “infrastructure” proposal—and it’s pretty easy to read between the lines. His plan would roll back environmental protections and privatize public works projects under the guise of “infrastructure” support. I strongly believe that government should be run by and for the people—especially with our children and future generations in mind—and that’s why I’m so deeply concerned.

"How would selling off public lands to the fossil fuel industry benefit our children? Our beautiful public lands need protection so that we and future generations can enjoy them. How does privatizing roads, bridges, and water systems, and possibly charging increased tolls and fees benefit our children? It makes no sense to allow big business to profit from our basic safety needs.

How does potentially giving authority to one man to green light pipeline projects benefit our children? Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke has repeatedly demonstrated that he represents the oil and gas industry. Imagine even more pipelines crisscrossing our public lands—all of them just waiting to leak and spill.

How does weakening clean air and water standards benefit our children? Trump’s plan would allow projects to ignore bedrock environmental safeguards like the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and National Environmental Policy Act. This puts our health and the environment at risk.

Trump’s infrastructure plan is yet another attempt to weaken our checks and balances, to sidestep protections for workers, and to cut out public input on decisions that will affect our air and water. Trump wants to line the pockets of his billionaire friends at the expense of the rest of us. He’s not streamlining anything; he’s simply making it easier for big businesses to bulldoze through environmental, worker, and public safety standards.

Why aren’t we investing in improving our crumbling infrastructure? Why not improve our electrical grid to support more clean energy? Why not invest more in resilient transportation systems that are better for the environment like public transit? Why not make sure we’re ready for more extreme climate-related weather events, like hurricanes and wildfires? Climate change is already happening—we should be preparing right now.

Nothing in Trump’s plan would benefit my children or yours. Trump and the GOP need to stop playing politics. We need leaders who will put people before profits and deliver a real plan to invest in infrastructure nationwide that doesn’t sacrifice our health or the environment. The future of our children depends on it. To show your support, join me and the Sierra Club in telling our representatives in Congress to reject any infrastructure plan that doesn’t create family-sustaining jobs, invest in clean energy, and protect our air, water, and health.

Alyssa Milano is an activist, actress, UNICEF ambassador, Sierra Club ambassador, and the CEO of Patriot Not Partisan."

New Article: Exclusive When #MeToo movement leader Alyssa Milano Will Be Heading to Houston Later!
Posted on 17 Feb 2018

Alyssa News icon

Hello everybody,

The actress who helped take the #MeToo movement international is coming to Houston to help flip one Texas's most competitive U.S. House seats. Alyssa Milano, who starred in TV programs like Who's the Boss and Charmed, will campaign with Democrat Laura Moser who is one of seven candidates battling in a March 6 Democratic Primary in the 7th Congressional District in West Houston.

"Milano will join Moser on February 24 - four days after early voting starts - to meet campaign volunteers, to block walk in west Houston neighborhoods and to speak at a "Vote Your Values" rally, according to Moser's campaign. It's not the first time for the politically active Milano to get into a big political fight. In December she participated in get-out-the-vote efforts in the Alabama U.S. Senate race won by Democrat Doug Jones.

Milano and activist Tarana Burke are largely credited with invigorating the #MeToo movement on social media following the revelations about Hollywood movie producer Harvey Weinstein.

"If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote 'Me too' as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem," Milano wrote in a Tweet on Oct. 15.

About 20 minutes later, her Tweet had already had 10,000 responses. More than 68,000 people have responded and it is seen as one of the starting points of the movement."

Project Updates: Exclusive On ‘Project Runway All Stars’, As We Learnt Does Joshua McKinley Really Have A Kind Of ‘Taste Issue’?
Posted on 17 Feb 2018
Posted by Admin
Projects icon

Hello everybody,

Joshua McKinley advanced safely through season six of “Project Runway All Stars” without a single critique from the judges until episode six, “Thrown for a Loop by Betty Boop,” when he not only advanced to the next round but was named the winner of the design challenge. The contestants had to create a chic Hollywood look for the famous cartoon character, so McKinley assembled an urban look with a graphic tee and a see-through mesh skirt.

"Judge Georgina Chapman said, “I love your take on the New York t-shirt,” and Isaac Mizrahi thought it was “racy” without being “vulgar.” But some of our readers begged to differ.

McKinley has pushed the envelope this season with his sexy looks, including a peekaboo “Ball” gown during an unconventional-materials challenge and a lingerie-inspired “Superhero.”

For designers who like to walk on the wild side there’s always the risk that sexy will cross over into tacky in the eyes of the judges — Ari South was eliminated in “Perfect Pairings” in part because of an exposed bellybutton — but McKinley has consistently gotten the judges’ seal of approval.

However, one “Runway” fan commented that “he never learned taste,” while another didn’t understand his use of “that weird white underwear thing with the strap that looked like some kind of medical support garment.” What do you think? Are McKinley’s designs high-fashion or low-taste?"

Charmed Updates icon

Hello everybody,

It's not one of the Power of Three, though. It looks like the Charmed reboot has officially found their first cast member. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle's Ser' Darius Blain has landed a massive role in the reboot of the beloved show. According to Deadline, the actor has been cast as Galvin, Macy's boyfriend. The character is described as being "the ideal boyfriend."

"The description continues:

"Funny, mellow, in touch with his emotions, totally on board to follow his lady across the country for her dream job. An aspiring filmmaker who has yet to catch the break he's sure is just around the corner."

Macy and her two sisters - Madison and Mel - are going to replace Prue, Piper and Phoebe to make up the Power of Three.

A pilot episode of the series was ordered by The CW last month, after previously having been scrapped by the network early last year.

The series synopsis reads:

"This fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series centres on three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches.

"Between vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy, and maintaining familial bonds, a witch’s work is never done."

The reboot series will be based on a story created by Jane the Virgincreator, Jennie Snyder Urman."

Project Updates: Exclusive Why Is There No New Episode Of Project Runway All Stars For Tonight, February 15?
Posted on 16 Feb 2018
Posted by Admin
Projects icon

Hello everybody,

This season of Project Runway All Stars has seen some beautiful fashion and some horrible fashion don’ts. Even though these designers have Project Runway experience, the designers seem to be stumbling more often. From poorly constructed gowns to hideous fabrics, this season has been a head scratcher. Will there be a new episode of Project Runway All Stars on Feb. 15?

"Luckily, Project Runway All Stars is taking a week off. A new episode, featuring avant-garde fashion returns on Feb. 22. Based on a small clip at the end of last week’s episode, the upcoming episode will have lots of catty comments.

It seems strange that there is a week break for this show. Sure, New York Fashion Week is happening now, but that event doesn’t impact the current season. February 15 isn’t a holiday. There doesn’t seem to be a big reason to have a week break.

Of course, the Winter Olympics are on the must-see watch list, but sometimes people don’t want to watch curling again. Granted, the Winter Olympics happen every four years. Still people can have a little sports overload and could want to see some designer backstabbing.

This season has been a little low on the drama. Some designers have their cliques, but that happens in every season. No one has really thrown another designer under the bus. Helen made some crappy comments, but they weren’t horrible. In last week’s episode, everyone seemed to be getting along again.

Without the in-fighting, the fashion really needs to be the focus. Unfortunately, the outfits aren’t memorable. Sure, Joshua’s Betty Boop look for Torrid was cute, it wasn’t earth shattering. Anthony’s gowns have been pretty, but they aren’t draw dropping. Personally, very few, if any, designs stand out as memorable.

The biggest takeaway from this season is that Merline is still standing. While she might have some interesting fashion interpretations, her looks aren’t constructed well. Maybe this season is about a designer who can’t sew but is still a fashion designer."

Charmed Updates: Exclusive Spotlight On "Charmed" Books, With Novel Penned By Julie D. O'Reilly, "Bewitched Again" Finally Added!
Posted on 16 Feb 2018
Posted by Admin
Charmed Updates icon

Hello everybody,

I am trying to make something different here with "Charmed Novel" since the page that I am building is still under construction. Let's continue this week with the online novel penned by Julie D. O'Reilly, "Bewitched Again: Supernaturally Powerful Women on Television, 1996-2011"! O'Reilly identifies commonalities across characters and shows and contextualizes them within a specific cultural period and set of televisual conventions. .

"Description:

Starting in 1996, U.S. television saw an influx of superhuman female characters who could materialize objects like Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, defeat evil like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and have premonitions like Charmed's Phoebe. The extraordinary abilities of these women showed resistance to traditional gender roles, although these characters experienced infringements on their abilities in ways superpowered men did not.

Supernaturally powerful women and girls have remained on television, including the heavenly connected Grace (of Saving Grace), telepathic Sookie (of True Blood), and magical Cassie (of The Secret Circle). These more recent characters also face numerous constraints on their powers. As a result, superpowers become a narrative technique to diminish these characters, a technique that began with television's first super-powered woman, Samantha (of Bewitched).

They all illustrate a paradox of women's power: are these characters ever truly powerful, much less super-powerful, if they cannot use their abilities fully? The superwoman has endured as a metaphor for women trying to "have it all"; therefore, the travails of these television examples parallel those of their off-screen counterparts."
