"We’re excited to announce that we partnered with Touch by Alyssa Milano, and will be offering its officially licensed NFL tee-shirts and long-sleeve shirts featuring NFL team colors just for moms-to-be!
Actress, mom of two, and a huge New York Giants fan, Alyssa catered her line of NFL tops especially for expecting moms so they can cheer on their favorite teams in style. “Who knew that being pregnant twice could spur a fabulous business idea? Being such a huge sports fan I wanted to show my team pride during my pregnancies…and there was nothing cool and fashionable to buy,” says Alyssa.
“So, I decided to create a new collection within my Touch Brand specifically for ladies like me. And, I am super excited to now be partnering with Motherhood Maternity to sell the collection.”
With four styles to choose from, you can show your team spirit while staying comfortable, whether at a game or watching from the couch. Kick off football season in style and shop these comfortable and soft tops here. Make sure to show us how you sport your pride with the hashtag #thisisgoingtobefun! Who are you rooting for?"
"In their promo that aired last night for the “Mistresses” finale, the show really wanted you to think that there was a “surprise return” coming — and as a result of that, of course it was fair to suspect that this person could be Savi.
After all, Alyssa Milano was a key component of the first two seasons of the show, and she is the one person whose return would be legitimately worth all of the hype in the world.
Unfortunately, it does not quite look as though that is happening. Milano was asked on Twitter overnight about whether if the promo was legitimately teasing a return or “messing with” the audience, and her response clearly points towards the latter. Is it possible that Milano is messing with us about the show messing with us in the promo, and she is coming back after all? We guess in theory, but we’re inclined to take her at her word here.
For ABC, it feels pretty darn clear what they had to gain in promoting the finale around a surprise return: They need viewers to watch if the show has any hopes of being renewed for anything beyond season 4.
From now until when the episode airs, we’ll just have to hope for someone else turning up. (For the record, we do wish that Milano would turn back up on the show someday, given that we do find it incredibly awkward that Savi is still gone given her once-close relationship with Joss … even if we understand the reason for her rage.)"
"Score! Touch by Alyssa Milano — a fashion brand dedicated to women wanting to show off their sports loyalties while looking and feeling their best — just got a little more mom-friendly.
“So many moms-to-be approached me about developing a Touch Maternity Collection,” Milano tells PEOPLE exclusively of her decision to expand her line, which is now offered exclusively at Motherhood Maternity stores, as well as online at both the company’s website and DestinationMaternity.com.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am about my partnership with Motherhood Maternity,” adds the actress and mom of two, 43. “Motherhood Maternity is the perfect destination for Touch because of the fashionable styles available in their stores.”
The new apparel line will offer four styles of NFL tees — made from “comfortable fabrics and soft washes” that “will maintain the Touch signature style with unique detailing, embroidery, and stylish prints,” according to a press release — and range in cost from $29.98 to $34.98.
Milano tells PEOPLE she already has a favorite style, too, even though it’s difficult to choose.
“As the designer of the styles, it is hard to separate my favorite,” she says. “But, I will go with the Long Sleeve Ribbed Maternity Tee — only because the fabric I used is really yummy and is light enough to wear on a warm day as well as a cool day.”
“A mom-to-be will be comfortable in all weather,” Milano adds.
Of course, the actress has to be impartial since the line will offer options for fans of any NFL team, but she can’t help noting whom she’ll be cheering for this season.
“Since the NFL season is about to kick off, I will be rooting for my New York Giants,” she tells PEOPLE."
"Everyone loves to believe the world has a Magic spark to it, it simply makes our world seem that much more welcoming. Having Magic in the world brings a kind of comfort, a sort of hope and "Charmed" was unique in that aspect. Watching powerful witches battle evil demons to provide a good balance in the world was a fun escape for us in the 90’s.
Not every modern show features women sticking together through the hardest times in their lives, unless you count Orphan Black of course. In a world where women are taught from an early age that jealousy and competition between one another is healthy, the Charmed Ones showed us that it’s more healthy for women to support instead of bicker.
Sure, the Charmed Ones were unique. They may have been sisters and witches, but they still drove the point across that communication is key in any kind of relationship. It shouldn’t take special circumstances to treat those around you with compassion and kindness.
These sisters were television’s late 90’s prominent feminists who showed that uplifting and encouraging one another literally resulted in magic. The only other examples we had of this were Xena and her sidekick Gabrielle, and of course the Spice Girls (though they weren’t the true example of feminism but were produced to represent it). Backstabbing and pettiness of modern day women doesn’t produce the charm and magic that these girls had shown us how to achieve through feminist empowerment.
The show began with three sisters who had no idea that they belonged to a particularly powerful bloodline of witches. It wasn’t until Phoebe came across the Book of Shadows that the Halliwell girls started to treat each other as more than mere relatives. They banded to protect the innocent all while often being targets of attacks from Demons themselves.
While the girls together were unstoppable, each of the Charmed Ones had personalities, strengths and weakness of their own character. The original trio consisted of Prue (Shannen Doherty- please get better soon!), Piper (Holly-Marie Combs) and Phoebe (Alyssa Milano). Prue started off as an ambitious auction house worker bee and ended up running it at some point before her death. Her powers linked directly to her expressive eyes and power of telekinesis. Piper could explode items with a flick of her wrist and even stop time when needed. Phoebe was the empath and and experienced premonitions involving the innocents.
They tackled issues such as unity through dark times, conquering love even when it seemed like they weren’t meant to experience such happiness, and even went so far as to tackling the aspect of death when Prue met her death. Despite Doherty’s absence, the show pushed on and eventually introduced Paige (Rose McGowan) who seamlessly fit into her newfound family.
While the trio did miss Prue’s power hugely, Paige’s white-lighter blood did prove useful as the girls gained the power of summoning and teleportation.
Throughout everything and all the seasons, the girls always fought for one another and protecting the good in the world. There just seems to be a shortage of women uplifting other women in the world of television. With Hollywood re-vamping all the other shows I’d love to see them tackle this series, even if the girls are portrayed by other actresses. As much as I love Holly-Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano, I feel they brought everything they could to the characters. Perhaps fresh faces will also bring new life to the Charmed Ones. Either way, television isn’t the same without the Halliwells on air."
"For decades, Alyssa Milano was one of the biggest names on the small screen. These days, however, the New York-born actress hasn't been getting as many acting jobs as she used to. Which is a shame, because we think Hollywood is missing out on a big opportunity for success. Let's explore why we think it's time she should make a comeback.
Nostalgia is all the rage right now
These days, the television industry is all about making old shows new again. Between revivals of Full House, 24, and Gilmore Girls, it's hard not to feel like we're living in, say, 1998, than 2016 whenever we turn on our TVs. With the nostalgia wave riding high in Hollywood, now seems like the perfect time for Milano to re-enter the spotlight.
For one thing, she's been in the business for three decades. Even better, her resume spans multiple generations, which would allow her to carry in her nostalgic fans of shows like Who's the Boss?, Melrose Place, and Charmed while bringing in a whole new group, should she find the right project. The idea pretty much writes itself.
A Charmed reunion seems inevitable
Speaking of nostalgia: every year, it seems like we're getting closer and closer to finally witnessing some type of Charmed reunion. Fans' dreams almost came true when CBS considered rebooting the popular WB series in 2013. The reboot, of course, never materialized; Milano told Paste magazine in 2016 that an "uproar" from fans forced CBS to kill it altogether.
Still, if planned correctly, a Charmed reboot of any sorts could do wonders for the network that decides to give it a whirl. Netflix, of course, would be the obvious home for this type of project. For starters, Charmed has proven to be very popular on the streaming service; a 2013 report claimed that it was the second most binge-watched show available for streaming. Plus, Netflix has proven time and again that it can turn even the cruddiest of shows into bonafide hits. So, who's to say Charmed 2.0 wouldn't stream for at least a handful of seasons?
For her part, Milano has seemed a little on the fence about casting one more spell. In February 2016, the actress told Entertainment Tonight the cast was "totally on board" for a reunion. However, that same day, she told Paste magazine a bit of a different story. "It's so hard to replicate [the success of Charmed] because it is such a part of that generation," she said. "The chemistry was so unique. I don't know how you replicate that show. Unless you just spin it off in a totally different way, with different characters, and try to replicate what we did … When something works that well, I don't know how you try to replicate it." Something tells us a hefty paycheck from Netflix would change that tune pretty quickly.
Hollywood loves a comeback
What does Hollywood love more than nostalgia? A good comeback story. Having survived the business for over 30 years, Milano is poised to remind audiences that, yes, she was a good actress back in the day and that she's still good today. Certainly, she's given the comeback train a try, primarily through mediocre and underwhelming shows like Mistresses and Romantically Challenged.
If it were up to us, we'd have Milano go a different route than network television. In fact, she might be wise to take a page from the book of Winona Ryder, another actress who's finding her footing again after success in the '80s and '90s. In the past few years, Ryder has proven her worth again by unexpectedly appearing in a number of high-profile projects, ranging from Darren Aronofsky's Oscar-winning Black Swan, to David Simon's HBO miniseries Show Me a Hero and Netflix's spooky new series, Stranger Things. With each role, Ryder surprised us with her newfound versatility while reminding us of the good ol' days of Beetlejuice and Little Women. It's proven to be a winning combination for Ryder thus far, one that could have similar effects on a career like Milano's.
She's really versatile
If you want to survive in Hollywood for more than 30 years, you're going to have to be flexible. Nobody knows that more than Milano. In the past decade alone, Milano has proven she's more than just your typical television actress. She's launched a successful line of women's football wear; she's hosted Project Runway All Stars; and she's been an ambassador for UNICEF for 13 years.
In doing so, Milano vastly increased her marketability, to the point where Hollywood can cast her in a wide range of projects and not have to worry about whether or not she'll be a success. This marketability factor makes her a perfect candidate for a genre like daytime television. Whether it's through her own lifestyle program or talk show, we could easily see Milano appearing each morning on, say, The View, and not only fitting in, but lasting multiple seasons as well.
She's all grown up now
At age 43, Milano has entered the phase of her acting career where she can believably take on more mature and adult roles. As we've seen in the last decade, television has become the place for women over 40 to reboot their careers with strong leading roles on strong quality programming. Perhaps unknowingly, Milano herself seemed to pitch the idea to Hollywood while talking to Paste magazine in 2016. "Television has always created great, strong female characters even when the film world didn't and doesn't — because it's still that way," she said. "If you look at these factors, years, and years, and years ago, even when you look at shows like Cagney and Lacey — those were two really strong women. Even Who's The Boss? Look at Angela. She was a divorced, single mom that ran her own business, who hired a dude to take care of the kids and house."
She continued: "If you think about TV with shows like The Good Wife or any on the ABC lineup, like Scandal or How to Get Away With Murder … strong, strong, strong female characters that could have only been developed for television. TV has always developed better roles for women." Ummm, wait. Alyssa Milano on Scandal? Sign us up, please.
She's a survivor
As we've mentioned, Milano has been famous ever since Who's the Boss? premiered in 1984. For the most part, she's been a bankable celebrity ever since. Clearly, she's doing something right; you probably wouldn't be reading this if she wasn't.
The fact that Milano is still working and still relevant shows she's both talented and profitable; if you hire Milano, she's going to get the job done. Now, isn't it time someone gave her that job?"
"It’s World Breastfeeding Week, and parents across the globe are celebrating with awareness-raising events, art projects and even “brelfies.” Even Alyssa Milano is joining in on the fun.
The actress and breastfeeding advocate posted four breastfeeding selfies on Instagram with the hashtag #WBW2016.
The photos appear to show Milano breastfeeding her now almost-2-year-old daughter Elizabella at different ages.
As she notes in the captions, Milano is on a mission to #NormalizeBreastfeeding and raise awareness about World Breastfeeding Week, which this year focuses on the connection between nursing and the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals.
To learn more about World Breastfeeding Week and this year’s theme, visit the official website.
And hats off to Alyssa Milano for continuing to advocate for mothers around the world. "
