"A+E Networks-owned contemporary lifestyle channel FYI has slated one-hour special Celebrity Renovation (pictured), in which actor Alyssa Milano takes a sledgehammer to her assistant’s home.
The Hud:sun Media-produced special will follow Milano as she surprises her assistant Kelly by providing her with an entire home renovation in just six days as the latter recovers from a battle with ovarian cancer.
The film will shadow Milano as she joins forces with a leading Hollywood interior designer and construction crew to transform Kelly’s outdated home into a contemporary space by adding hardwood floors, white marble fireplace and custom-made banquette breakfast table.
Hud:sun Media’s Michael Rourke and Christopher Spry serve as executive producers alongside Davis Mikaels, who is listed as co-executive producer. Gena McCarthy and Jordan Harman serve as executive producers for FYI.
Celebrity Renovation with Alyssa Milano is scheduled to premiere across FYI on June 25 at 8 p.m. EST/PST."
"Alyssa Milano opened up about the possibility of a “Who’s The Boss” reunion during her appearance on SiriusXM’s Jenny Hutt show, giving all fans a renewed sense of hope!!
“I think we’re all open to it. We have a lot of pride for what we did then because it was kinda then a cutting edge show,” she told Hutt. “It was a single mother who had her own company, was the president of her own advertising agency, she hired a male nanny. I mean those were things that all didn’t happen in the eighties.”
And although Milano was enthusiastic about the potential project, she did attempt to temper expectations by letting viewers know that a full series reboot would be out of the question. “I mean so it would have to be something super special I think,” she added. “And it would probably be, I don’t think we’d do a full season not like ‘Fuller House’ thing, but we’d do an episode I think.”"
"Los Angeles Dodgers fanatic Alyssa Milano is falling out of love with her home team and flirting with the once-lowly Chicago Cubs.
Milano (photo inset), a Brooklyn native who has dated baseball players, including former Dodger Brad Penny, tells Confidenti@l she’s not “happy” with the team she professed her love to in a 2009 book, “Safe at Home: Confessions of a Baseball Fanatic.”
“I just feel that they trot the same team out there no matter how much money they have, who their owners are, or the names on the back of the jerseys,” the “Who’s the Boss?” star told us at the Trevor Project’s Trevorlive New York gala in Midtown.
“It’s always that same type of team,” she said. “It’s, like, mediocre.”
Milano was romantically linked to former Yankees pitcher Carl Pavano in 2003 and Oakland A’s ace Barry Zito in 2004. She also dated pitcher Penny in 2005. Now she tells us that Dodgers hurler Clayton Kershaw is “a star,” but the rest of the squad? Meh.
“There’s not like . . . that team spirit kind of vibe,” she said. “They trot out a very L.A. sports team type of team.”
While the Dodgers are treading water this summer, Milano has kept an eye on the league-leading Cubs, who last won a World Series in 1908.
“I like that they haven’t won in so long that you have to root for them,” she said. “You can’t be upset if the Cubs win the World Series, no matter who your team is.”
Luckily for Milano, her own fans aren’t so fickle — particularly the gay ones that started rooting her on when her witch-com “Charmed” was a big hit from 1998 to 2006.
“Best fans in the world, for sure,” she said. “I’m also the host of ‘Project Runway All-Stars,’ which also has a huge gay following and I love to follow the gays so we’re even!”"
"Alyssa Milano picks up a sledgehammer and gets to work in a one-hour special of “Celebrity Renovation”.
Milano surprises her assistant Kelly with a complete home renovation as she recovers from her battle with ovarian cancer.
Milano is under a tight deadline of six days to get the job done, quickly gathering a top Hollywood interior designer and a local construction crew. With the team in place, they work to turn Kelly’s outdated space into something modern and fabulous. Gone are the tacky tile floors as they are transformed into beautiful hardwood, a beautiful white marble fireplace makes a cozy addition, and a depressing bar is becomes a breakfast banquette, thanks to Milano and her sledgehammer.
With a seemingly-endless to-do list and unsuspected delays and disasters to contend with, time will tell if the renovation team can meet their deadline and get the seal of approval from Kelly.
“Celebrity Renovation” airs on June 25 on FYI."
"Reunited and it feels so good.
From 1984 to 1992, Alyssa Milano and Judith Light starred in the sitcom "Who's The Boss?," where in Alyssa played the lovable Samantha and Judith played Angela Robinson Bower.
On July 13, the two former co-stars were together again, reuniting at The Trevor Project's TrevorLIVE event in New York.
Now 43, Alyssa looked gorgeous at the event, donning a black and blue striped dress with a low-cut neckline. Judith, her unofficial on-screen mother for 8 years, rocked a long-sleeved form-fitting red dress and looked eternally young.
"Nothing makes me happier than seeing Judith Light. Nothing," Alyssa said while posting a photo from the event to her Instagram account. She added the hashtags #whostheboss, #familyforever and #aboutlastnight.
According to reports, Alyssa and Judith both spoke on stage during the event, which raises funds for suicide prevention resources and crisis intervention services.
"There are helpers in this world and there are bullies and The Trevor Project has over 920 volunteers across the nation dedicating their valuable time and passion to crisis services, community engagement and outreach," Alyssa said on stage after her mini reunion.
Judith called for action in regards to donating to help increase the digital available of the project's services.
"Please, please help support this critical digital resource tonight. We know that once supportive person can decrease an LGBT youth's risk for suicide by 30 percent," she said. "You can be that one person who makes a difference. You can be that person that someone says 'Thank you, now I feel better.'"
Both women wore silver ribbons to honor the victims of the terrorist attack in Orlando over the weekend."
"While the season 4 premiere of “Mistresses” on ABC last night brought us plenty of fun, there is a little bit of news now that suddenly lets out a little more air from our tires: You’re not going to be seeing an appearance this season from Alyssa Milano in the character of Savi.
This news was confirmed recently by star Rochelle Aytes (Savi), who passed along the following to Zap2It on the subject:
“She’s (Alyssa Milano) is not in it. But she’s a presence. We can’t ignore the fact the she exists. Will she come back? I don’t know.”
In many ways, it was a surprise that we weren’t getting more Savi on the new season, judging from why Milano left in the first place. She didn’t want to make the move up to Vancouver and uproot her young family at the time of season 3, which is certainly understandable and a decision we’ve seen many other actors make when their own shows decide to relocate.
However, at the same exact time season 4 moved back to Los Angeles, and we still are not getting a Savi appearance. We didn’t expect her to become a regular again by any means, but there was admittedly a part of us that at least felt like she would turn up and give us a little bit of an update as to what Savi is up to now.
If she does ever turn up, we certainly still feel like there’s a lot of great story to tell between her and Joss when it comes to Harry, even so many years removed from what drove the two of them apart to begin with."
"The actress recalls the biggest lessons learned since becoming a mother, and how to remember and value yourself as a part of the relationship with a new baby.
For actress, producer and designer Alyssa Milano, being a mom is truly rewarding. But motherhood brings its share of challenges, especially when it comes to breastfeeding.
“I feel strongly that women should be able to feed their babies no matter where they are,” explains the star of “Who's the Boss," “Charmed” and "Mistresses.” “Unfortunately,” she adds, “this isn't the case, due to people's perception of breastfeeding being 'gross,' or something you need to do in private.”
Staying abreast
Milano, 43, also believes breastfeeding should be viewed as beautiful and natural, rather than something women feel they have to hide. Learning the skill was actually difficult, since she hadn't really seen women breastfeed.
She says new mothers have typically stayed home under a blanket, hidden from society: “I feel it's important for young girls to see mamas breastfeeding in public, so they grow up knowing it's normal, and what breasts are actually meant for.”
Finding more time
As a working mother of two with a busy schedule, Milano admits balancing work and family is a juggling act. “I just do the best I can,” she says. “Some days I'm better at it than others. It's a fluid thing that's always changing.”
Milano adds, the best parenting advice she's received is the reminder that the more you put into it, the more you'll get out of it. She encourages moms with young children to realize some days are going to be better than others.
“The most important thing for me is to remind myself that perfection doesn't really exist. I try to be present and in the moment, and give my best in those moments,” Milano explains. “No matter what I'm doing—I also try to be kind to myself when I feel overwhelmed."
"From 1998 to 2006, Charmed reigned supreme on The WB. And while the latter is but a distant memory (R.I.P., Michigan J!), the former lives on in syndication, Netflix and the hearts of commuters who wish they could just orb home instead of having to sit in traffic.
“Charmed has sustained itself for over a decade, which I don’t think anyone expected, even though it makes perfect sense,” showrunner Brad Kern remarks. “It’s a timeless show about family, sisters and magic. Our daily mantra was: ‘This is a show about three sisters who happen to be witches, not three witches who happen to be sisters.'”
On the eve of the series finale’s tenth anniversary — “Forever Charmed” aired on May 21, 2006 — TVLine invited Kern to reflect on the drama’s storied history, from the Halliwell sisters’ first spell to their time-bending farewell. (Sorry, rhyming just sort of happens when you’re writing about Charmed.)
In addition to sharing behind-the-scenes stories about several Charmed institutions (Cole, Magic School, etc.), Kern candidly addresses a handful of lingering fan questions, including: Was Drew Fuller originally meant to play grown-up Wyatt? Was Kaley Cuoco hired in the hopes of spinning off Billie? And, most importantly, why weren’t there any photos of Prue in the manor after her death?
As for Charmed‘s future, Kern believes it’s still “too soon” for a reboot — he had no involvement with the pilot script CBS ordered in 2013 — but says he would love to see the Halliwells’ story continue on the small screen when the time is right.
“It was a terrific series, and the girls’ kids would certainly be coming of age soon,” he acknowledges. “I can definitely see it. They’re bringing back everything else, why not bring back a hit?"
